20 Years of Sachein: Vijay's Cult Classic to Re-Release on April 18, 2025, Celebrating DSP’s Musical Legacy:

His grand DSP Live India Tour makes waves with rockstar DSP at the forefront,\; There's good news to share concerning his master's touch. Vijay and Genelia D'Souza starrer Sachein, which is one of his most notable works, is set to have a re-release on April 18, 2025, to celebrate its 20th year anniversary.

Although Sachein was a remake of a Telugu Neetho which was a dud, the Tamil version was box office gold. It not only helped clinch DSP’s journey as a composer but, served as his landmark in his formative years. One of the best moments of the film’s soundtrack was when DSP made Vijay sing the dance number set Vaadi Vaadi, which went on to become an overplayed dance hit.

The film’s track list became even more fresh and appealing with the powerful lyrics of other singers like Pa. Vijay, Kabilan, Na. Muthukumar, V. Elango, Palani Bharathi and DSP’s great music. The audience loved songs like Vaadi Vaadi, Dai Dai Dai Kattikkoda, Kanmoodi Thirakumbothu, Gundu Manga Thoppukkulle as they rised to the top of the charts within days.

The film starred Vadivelu, Santhanam, and the late Raghuvaran in pivotal roles along with Bipasha Basu making her Tamil film debut. Besides her, Genelia played Vijay’s love interest Shalini. Sachein was set in a college and was directed by John Mahendran. The film was a romantic comedy.

On the other hand, DSP never fails to entertain his audiences with the DSP Live Tour. After a stunning performance last week in Bangalore, he is ready to perform this time in Vizag, The City of Destiny, for his fans on March 29.
