Mahindra is building anticipation for its upcoming electric vehicle lineup with a new teaser showcasing the XEV 9S.This vehicle is poised to be the brand's first all-electric three-row SUV, marking a significant step in its electric mobility journey.Set for a global debut on November 27, the XEV 9S is expected to blend family-friendly practicality with a sophisticated, pure-electric heart.

The upcoming seven-seater electric SUV is built on Mahindra's advanced INGLO skateboard platform, which is designed to maximize interior space and structural rigidity. This dedicated EV architecture allows for a completely flat floor, a sliding second row for flexible seating configurations, and even a functional frunk under the bonnet for extra storageThe exterior design is expected to be a blend of the familiar XUV700 silhouette with EV-specific cues like a closed-off grille and slim, full-width LED light bars

Inside, the XEV 9S promises a futuristic and premium experience. Teasers have confirmed a tech-rich cabin featuring a stunning triple-screen dashboard layout, similar to the one seen in the XEV 9e coupe-SUV.[6] This setup includes a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment unit, and a dedicated screen for the front passenger.[1] Other confirmed premium features include a Harman Kardon sound system, a power-adjustable driver's seat with memory function, and a panoramic sunroof. The SUV is also expected to come with ventilated and massaging front seats, multi-zone climate control, and wireless charging

On the powertrain front, while exact specifications are yet to be confirmed, the XEV 9S is likely to share its battery options with other INGLO-based models. This could include 59 kWh and 79 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs, with the larger option potentially offering a claimed range of over 650 km.The platform supports both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, with the latter being a possibility for higher trims.Performance is expected to be brisk, with power outputs potentially reaching up to 286 PS and 380 Nm of torque, enabling a 0 to 100 kmph acceleration in about 7 secondsFast charging capabilities are also anticipated, allowing for a quick top-up of the battery.

Safety is also expected to be a key focus, with the XEV 9S likely to be equipped with a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite, seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability program. Upon its launch, the Mahindra XEV 9S will carve out a unique position in the market as one of the first mainstream seven-seater electric SUVs, competing with upcoming models like the Tata Harrier EV and the BYD eMAX 7.
