The Board of Control for Cricket in India has officially announced the fifteen member squad for the upcoming five match T20 International series against Sri Lanka Women which is scheduled to take place at home later this month The selection committee has introduced fresh energy into the team by awarding maiden call ups to two promising young talents Gunalan Kamalini and Vaishnavi Sharma who have been impressive in domestic circuits Harmanpreet Kaur has been retained as the captain of the side and will lead the team in the series that begins on December 21 while opening batter Smriti Mandhana will continue to serve as the vice captain assisting Kaur in leadership duties
