The Khatu Shyam Temple in Sikar, Rajasthan, will remain closed to devotees for a period of 19 hours starting from the night of February 18, 2026.

Important Schedule
Closing Time: Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 10:00 PM (after the Shayan Aarti).
Reopening Time: Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 5:00 PM (during the Sandhya Aarti).
Reason for Closure
The Shri Shyam Mandir Committee has stated that the closure is mandatory for traditional rituals that are performed periodically to maintain the sanctity of the deity.
Tilak Shringar: The main reason is the special Tilak ceremony and the elaborate Shringar (ornamentation) of Baba Shyam.
Special Puja: Intensive cleaning and sacred "Sewa-Puja" will be conducted by the temple priests during these 19 hours.
Advice for Devotees
Avoid Travel during Closure: Devotees are requested not to queue up or travel to the temple during this 19-hour window to avoid overcrowding and inconvenience.
Upcoming Falgun Mela: This closure is also a preparation for the massive Falgun Lakkhi Mela, which is scheduled to begin on February 21, 2026. During the fair, special security arrangements and entry protocols will be in place to handle millions of pilgrims.
