Chennai Super Kings was the first team to reach the final of IPL 2023. Chennai entered the final after defeating Gujarat Titans by 15 runs on 23 May. This was the first match of the IPL 2023 playoffs. This match saw a change in graphics. Instead of dot ball being thrown in the match, tree emoji was visible instead of dot ball. There is a very good initiative of BCCI behind this.

Harsha Bhogle and Simon Dull, who were commentating during the match, explained the reason behind this. He said that these tree emojis are a symbol of the new environmental initiative of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The board has decided to plant 500 trees for every dot ball. That is, BCCI will plant trees in place of all the dot balls that will be thrown in the IPL 2023 playoff matches. Now it will be interesting to see how many dot balls are bowled after the final of IPL 2023.

BCCI has joined hands with Tata Group for this initiative. Both BCCI and Tata Group will jointly plant 500 trees on each dot. Earlier it was said on behalf of Tata Motors that if any shot i.e. ball hits Tata Tiago, then Tata will plant five lakh trees in return. Chennai’s Ruturaj Gaikwad and Mumbai’s Nehal Wadhera have taken shots on the car so far in the season.

Let us tell you that Gaikwad had hit such a shot during the match played against Lucknow Supergiants, while Nehal Vadera of Mumbai Indians had hit a car in the match played against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
