Weather Alert 18-05-2023: People suffering from scorching heat for the last 3 days got some relief on Wednesday night. Several parts of North India, including Delhi-NCR, received rain along with strong winds late on Wednesday night. Along with this, the temperature has also decreased by 2-3 degrees. But despite the storm, departmental sources say the day’s maximum temperature will be around 40 degrees Celsius.
Personal the season According to agency Skymet, Western Disturbance has been active over Jammu and Kashmir since Wednesday. Because of this, heavy winds blew in many states of North India and there were thundershowers in many places. As per last 24 hours weather forecast, South Haryana is experiencing light dust storms. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and Southeast Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Haryana received light rain. Sikkim, Coastal Odisha, parts of interior Tamil Nadu, South Karnataka, South Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat also received light to moderate rains.
According to the weather forecast for Delhi for the next 24 hours, parts of Punjab, Haryana, North West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan are likely to experience dust storms and light rain. Today and tomorrow i.e. on May 19, people of Delhi-NCR will witness a cool weather due to the sighting of Barish Raya. May 20-21 will have strong sunshine. On May 22, it will rain with thunder during the day. The department said that there will be rain on May 23 as well.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rains and heavy rains are likely at some places in Northeast India. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Northeast Bihar and Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will receive light to moderate rain.
Warning of heavy rains in northeastern states:
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the northeastern states for the next 3 days. A heavy rain warning has been issued for Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Tripura from May 18 to 21. There is no possibility of any significant change in the weather for the next 2 days in the remaining states of the country.
