In search of which the police ran to every corner of Punjab. Amritpal was arrested after 36 days. Amritpal was arrested outside the Gurudwara in Rode village. After the absconding of Amritpal, a big question arose that why the police could not trace Amritpal’s phone number?

A video message was also issued by the absconding Amritpal. He was constantly changing his location with his mobile phone. But still the police could neither reach him nor trace his mobile number. There was a reason behind it. When the Punjab government sent a report related to Operation Amritpal to the Union Home Ministry, it was claimed that he had been using a foreign number continuously since absconding.
The escape took place on March 18
After the Ajanla violence, the Punjab Police laid a trap to nab Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh and his associates. When the police went to arrest Amritpal, he evaded the police and escaped. After which he was avoiding the police by changing his disguise. Police conducted raids in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi in search of him. Finally, on 23 April, the Punjab Police managed to nab Amritpal. Amritpal was arrested under the National Security Act. Amritpal is currently lodged in Assam’s Dibrugarh Jail along with his nine accomplices.
