Human-like robots so far you must have seen only in movies, which were part of human imagination. But now these robots are not just fiction but a part of reality. They have been called the ‘world’s most advanced humanoid robot. These robots have been named Ameka which have been made in the British lab. Their physical movements and facial expressions are exactly like those of humans.

Cornwall-based Engineered Arts brands itself as ‘the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of humanoid entertainment robots. The company has disclosed this machine on YouTube. Watching the video, many viewers wondered how ‘real’ and ‘human’ the machine is. One user wrote, ‘I know we should be scared of AI but it’s the gynoid that didn’t scare me, that’s good enough.’ Another user wrote, ‘Eyes are very important when it comes to making something look alive and real. Their movements, focus, blinking, and paying attention to anything. At the same time, the third user wrote, ‘Great job! Its hands are also looking very good. Some people compared America to the 2004 science fiction film, From Robot’s NS-5. It depicts intelligent robots filling public service positions in a dystopian world. He blinks his eyes several times and looks at his machine hand carefully.

It certainly sounds very realistic and is at the forefront of facial expressions but the next challenge is to make these robots capable of walking. Engineer Arts has said that there is still a long way to go. The YouTube clip shows the robot shaking its shoulders before opening its eyes. A human expression of wonder can be seen on his face.
