Sultanpur: The city police chief in Sultanpur does not know the dignity of the uniform. During the protest by Congressmen on Wednesday, he was first accused of holding the collars of the leaders. Seeing himself surrounded by this protest, he lost his temper. He tore his uniform on camera. Its video has also surfaced. There was a heated argument between the police and the leaders for hours on the main road in front of the Collectorate. However, the administrative officials who reached the spot pacified the matter by meditating.

Congress workers sitting on dharna

According to the information, on Wednesday, under the leadership of Congress District President Abhishek Singh Rana, Congressmen took to the streets over the issue of shortage of DAP fertilizer, non-purchase of paddy, and other issues. When the Congressmen reached the Collectorate, the gate of the Collectorate was closed on the verbal Tughlaqi order of the DM so that the Congressmen could not enter the Collectorate. When the Congressmen reached here and the gate was closed, they sat on a dharna in front of the Collectorate.

Police officers clashed with protesting Congress leaders.

Due to this, the city police chief got into a tussle with the Congressmen. Congress district president Abhishek Singh said that farmers are not getting DAP fertilizer in the district. Farmers are standing in line from 3 am to noon but still are not getting fertilizer. Seeds are not available at the societies, many societies from where seeds and paddy should have been purchased are closed. We had earlier met the DM and made a written demand to start the societies. The sugar mill is closed, and people have brought it to the verge of being sold. The roads are broken, we were going to meet the District Magistrate today regarding all these problems.

The Congress leader said that this was informed yesterday. Today, 10-15 people were leaving the office. When we reached here, we were not allowed to go inside and the gate was closed, so we were forced to sit. Then the city police chief came and pulled the Congress leaders by their collars. They got into a scuffle in which many of our colleagues got injured. We said that please introduce us to the district magistrate or any competent officer for paddy procurement. The police chief broke the buttons of his uniform in front of everyone.
