Dehradun: The four-day ‘Uttarakhand Sri Anna (Millet) Festival’ will conclude today (Tuesday) at the Survey of India Stadium in Hathibarkala. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Acharya Balakrishna of Patanjali Ayurveda and State Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi will be specially present. The state government has set a target of doubling millet production by 2025.

More than 134 stalls related to education and millets of other institutions have been set up in the festival held at the stadium. Farmers were given information for millet promotion. Food stalls have also been set up. So far Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt, Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Agriculture Surya Pratap Shahi, former Chief Minister and MP from Haridwar Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, former Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyar, H. Member of Rajya Sabha Naresh Bansal and many agricultural scientists have joined in. In the colorful cultural evening, well-known folk artists of the state Narendra Negi, Saurabh Maithani, Pritam Bharatwan, Maya Upadhyay etc. performed.
