Dehradun: Deteriorated weather conditions still persist in the state. The sequence of rainfall and snowfall remains more or less the same as before. That is, the prediction of the department is being seen to be completely correct. There is continuous rain and snowfall in the hills, due to which Chardham Yatra season is also affected.

Half of the month of May has passed and it has been more than 3 weeks since the Chardham Yatra started, but the travel arrangements have started deteriorating due to the weather. The weather in Kedar Dham was clear since Monday morning, but in the afternoon, the weather suddenly changed and heavy snowfall started, due to which the devotees present in the Dham had to face a lot of trouble.

Even though the registration for Kedarnath Yatra has been banned till May 25, but even after that, the process of reaching Kedar Dham on an average of 25 thousand devotees every day is going on. Due to incessant rains and snowfall, it is not possible to deliver the essential materials to the Dham where the pilgrims on foot are facing great difficulty. The accommodation and food arrangements in the hostel have also been disturbed.

The threat of avalanches has also increased due to continuous snowfall on the mountains. A picture of an avalanche at Chamoli’s Neelkanth mountain has surfaced today, in which huge amounts of snow can be seen coming down the mountain at a furious pace.

It may be noted that this incident is 20-25 km away from Badrinath, where pilgrims going to Dham also go. NDRF teams are monitoring it. On the other hand Yatra to Hemkund Sahib is also going to start from 20th May, but there is 7-8 feet of snow, the work of opening the road with machines is going on, but the situation remains unchanged due to snowfall every day.
