Sirohi : Some people attacked an elderly man who was trying to open the road on Monday night in Bhatana village located in Mandar police station area of the district. The elderly man injured in the attack died while being taken to the hospital.
An elderly person died after an attack on him on Monday night in Bhatana village located in Mandar police station area of the district. A child of the old man’s family had fallen ill, to be taken to the hospital by car in the street. Where people had blocked the road by placing cots, tables etc. on the road due to marriage in the Nutt family. When the car reached there, the people of the Nat family stopped the car and asked them to go through some other way. The child’s family and elderly Lakharam requested to open the way with folded hands, but they refused to do so. A minor argument turned into violence. People started beating old Lakharam with kicks and sticks, in which Lakharam was badly injured.
The relatives were taking Lakharam to Gujarat in critical condition after getting first aid at Bhatana Hospital, but the old man died on the way. Police kept the dead body in the mortuary of Revdar Hospital. On Tuesday, hundreds of people of Devasi community gathered in the Revdar Hospital premises demanding action against the culprits. He has made many serious allegations against Bhatana Chowki in-charge including giving protection to the accused, promoting illegal activities. The people of the society are demanding the removal of the outpost in-charge and the arrest of all the named accused. Local MLA Jagseeram Koli, Bhatana Sarpanch Bhavani Singh, Principal Representative Arjun Devasi are also present at the protest site. Revdar CO Ghanshyam Verma, Tehsildar Jagdish Vishnoi reached the spot and are trying to explain. The people of Devasi community are still adamant on demanding action against the culprits in the hospital.
