Washington: America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has given a big warning to the BRICS countries who are thinking of using any other currency in place of the US dollar. Trump asked the BRICS countries to promise that they will not do so. He said that if the BRICS countries do so, they should not think that America will remain a silent spectator. Trump said that the era when America will remain silent on such decisions is over now. Trump said, “We want those countries to promise that they will neither create a new BRICS currency nor support any other currency in place of the powerful US dollar, otherwise 100 percent duty will be imposed on them and they will have to give up the hope of selling their goods in the wonderful American markets.
Let us tell you that BRICS includes nine countries including India, Russia, China, a nd Brazil. Russian President Putin has claimed to include about 30 other countries in it in the future. During the recent BRICS conference in Brazil, Putin himself suggested the BRICS countries trade in their currency instead of the dollar. After this, America has become upset. Trump asked the group BRICS to promise that they will not do this. Let us tell you that BRICS, established in the year 2009, is the only big international group in which America is not a part.
Many other countries have also become members of the BRICS
Apart from the nine permanent members of BRICS, many other countries have also become members of BRICS. These include South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates. In the past few years, BRICS countries, especially Russia and China, have been trying to introduce their own BRICS currency as an alternative to the US dollar. However, India has not been involved in any such move so far. Trump on Saturday warned the BRICS countries against any such move.
Trump wrote on the social media platform ‘Truth Social’, “The era of BRICS countries trying to move away from the dollar and us watching as silent spectators is over now.” He said, “We want those countries to promise that they will neither create a new BRICS currency nor support any other currency in place of the powerful US dollar, otherwise 100 percent duty will be imposed on them and they will have to give up the hope of selling their goods in the wonderful American markets.
