Train like scene in flight, had to travel standing as seat was not available! Then what happened…

2885092 IndigoflightIndiGo Flight: It is common for passengers to travel standing in buses and trains, but if this happens in a flight, you may be shocked. A similar sight was seen in an Indigo flight going from Mumbai to Varanasi. But later, after realizing the mistake, the passenger who was traveling standing was taken off the flight. This incident happened on May 21 at Mumbai Airport. The plane had to return before taking off from here, because the crane crew saw an extra passenger standing in the rear part of the plane.

The passenger travelling standing turned out to be an Indigo employee

Flight 6E 6543 was taxiing to the airport when a crew member informed the pilot about the standing passenger. After this, the flight was taken back to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai. According to a report published in the Times of India, the passenger traveling standing in the flight was an employee of IndiGo. According to the information, the passenger with a confirmed ticket arrived late and was then considered a no-show (the passenger who does not come to catch the flight). Due to this, the IndiGo employee (standby passenger) was allowed to board the flight.

The passenger was traveling with a carry-on bag.
Later the confirmed passenger who was coming late also came and sat on his seat. This was the reason that no seat was left for the standby passenger. Efforts are being made to find out how the mistake happened. Government agencies DGCA and BCAS are investigating how the standby passenger was able to board the plane. Sources say that the standby passenger did not have any check-in luggage, he was traveling only with his carry-on bag.

In a statement issued by IndiGo airline, it was said that ‘a mistake was made during the process of seating the passengers in flight 6E 6543 going from Mumbai to Varanasi. The standby passenger was given the seat of a passenger with a confirmed ticket. This mistake was discovered before the departure of the plane and the standby passenger was deboarded from the plane. Due to this, there was a slight delay in the departure of the flight. IndiGo will take all necessary steps to strengthen the working system and apologized for the inconvenience caused to the passengers.’
