According to information received, three players from Chhattisgarh have won gold medals in the team championship of boys and girls category in the second World Mallakhambah Championship held in Bhutan. The national boys team was represented by Santosh Shore and Santhaya Potai and Jayanthi Kachalam represented the national girls team in the championship. These three players are residents of Abujahamd area of ​​Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.

It is worth mentioning that more than 200 players from India, Japan, USA, South Africa, Brazil, Bahrain etc. participated in the World Mallakhambha Championship. Hailing from the Abujahamd and vulnerable areas of Chhattisgarh, these players have made a name for themselves at the international level. Santosh Shourie started practicing Mallakhambah from Class V (year 2017) at Porta Cabin School, Devgaon, Narayanpur. He won his first gold medal at the 2020 Bilaspur Invitational National Championship. Santosh Shore has now won a total of 18 medals in state and national competitions. Similarly Santaya Potai has won 17 medals at state and national level. Jayanthi Kachalam is a 12th standard student, she has been practicing Mallakhamb for the past 04 years and has won a total of 14 medals at state and national levels. The Indian national team was selected based on the outstanding performance of these players.
