Fans eagerly wait for the match between India and Pakistan on the cricket field, and if there is a chance to see the players of both teams playing with the same team, then no fan of world cricket would want to miss this moment. Such a thing was last seen in the year 2007 when players of India and Pakistan were seen playing together in the Afro-Asia Cup. Now after 17 years, preparations are being made to organize this tournament again, regarding which the interim president of the Africa Cricket Association i.e. ACA, Tavengwa Mukuhlani has given a big update to restart this tournament.

ACA formed a 6 member committee

The Africa Cricket Association has also formed a 6-member interim committee to restart the Afro-Asia Cup so that the process of organizing this tournament can be further accelerated. In this, their first goal will be to talk with the Asian Cricket Council to explore opportunities to organize the Afro-Asia Cup. This tournament has been played only twice so far, which was hosted by South Africa for the first time in the year 2005, while the second time, was hosted by India in the year 2007. The third edition of the tournament was to be held in Kenya in the year 2009, but even after 2 decades, it could not be organized. The biggest reason for this is the bad relations between India and Pakistan, due to which there is no bilateral series between the two countries.

Afro-Asia Cup will also provide an opportunity to improve the economic situation.

The Afro-Asia Cup is an intercontinental cup played between two teams formed by players from Asian and African teams, in which a series of 3 matches is played between the two. ACA interim president Tavengwa Mukuhlani, who is also the president of Zimbabwe Cricket, said in a statement that apart from cricket, the Afro-Asia Cup brings much-needed financial input to the organization, which is also very beneficial for everyone.
