Well-known Bollywood creator Hansal Mehta is coming up with ‘Scoop’, a web series that explores the story between the police, the underworld and the media after the 1992 scam. The trailer of the series releasing on Netflix on June 2 was launched recently. The series is being adapted from Jijana Vora’s book ‘Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison’. The show will be streamed on Netflix. Karisma Tanna is playing the role of crime journalist Jagruti Pathak in the show. In which a female journalist is accused of killing her fellow journalist. Written by Mrinmayi Lagu Vaikul and Mirat Trivedi, the show will also feature Karisma along with Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Harman Baweja and Prasenjit Chatterjee.
Hansal Mehta says, “After reading Jigna Vora’s book Behind the Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison, I felt compelled to bring this true story to the screen. We have started shooting for it and I am happy to work for Netflix for the first time after the series. Not only this, the scoop with a beautiful and emotional story will reach audiences worldwide through Netflix. I am making this series along with co-creator Mrinmayi Lagu and producer Machi Shots.’
