Controversy continues over the opening of Parliament by the President. The matter has reached the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court has refused to hear PM Modi’s petition regarding the inauguration of the new Parliament. The Supreme Court told the petitioner’s lawyer, ‘Why don’t we punish you for filing such a petition.’ During the hearing, it was argued on behalf of the petitioner that the President holds the position of constitutional head. The Supreme Court said, ‘We do not want to interfere in this matter.’
