On Monday, the BSE Sensex closed with a marginal gain of 9.83 points at 79,496.15 points, while on the other hand, the NSE Nifty 50 index closed with a decline of 6.90 points at 24,141.30 points. Shares of 18 Sensex companies closed in the red.
On Monday, out of 30 Sensex companies, 18 stocks closed in the red while the remaining 12 companies closed in the green. Out of 50 Nifty 50 companies, 30 stocks closed in the red with losses and 19 companies closed in the green with profits. While one company’s stock closed without any change.
Asian Paints shares fall sharply.
Among the Sensex companies, Asian Paints’ stock recorded the highest decline of 8.18 percent today. Tata Steel’s stock closed with a decline of 1.76 percent, Bajaj Finance’s stock closed with a decline of 1.73 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra’s stock closed with a decline of 1.65 percent, JSW Steel’s stock closed with a decline of 1.64 percent, NTPC’s stock closed with a decline of 1.32 percent, Adani Ports’ stock closed with a decline of 1.17 percent, Bajaj Finserv’s stock closed with a decline of 1.15 percent.
Apart from these, shares of Larsen & Toubro, Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, Hindustan Unilever, Bharti Airtel, Nestle India, UltraTech Cement, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Tata Motors also closed in the red with losses.
Powergrid shares surged sharply.
Power Grid shares closed with the highest gain of 4.22 percent today. Shares of HCL Tech closed in the green with a gain of 1.60 percent, Infosys 1.58 percent, Tech Mahindra 1.24 percent, TCS 1.21 percent, Maruti Suzuki 0.86 percent, ICICI Bank 0.78 percent, HDFC Bank 0.69 percent, Titan 0.64 percent, IndusInd Bank 0.64 percent, State Bank of India 0.54 percent and Axis Bank shares closed in the green with a gain of 0.44 percent.
