Udaipur: The plot of the image of the police in films may be well-known, but there are only a few films in which the image of the police is able to create a space in people’s minds. Amidst this phase, a police officer from the Udaipur division has attempted to make a film to strengthen community-based policing. Using resources at his level, this police officer made the film ‘The Informer: Police Friend’. It will be launched soon. He also briefed Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who recently visited Udaipur, about the film. Dinesh MN (IPS), Deepak Bhargava (IPS), Tiger 4 Security and Drive Digital Jaipur have also collaborated in the production of this film.

The film is produced by Sagwada Police Officer Himanshu Singh Rajawat. Produced under the banner of Kalyan Studio Kapasan, the film is directed by Praveen Vaidya. The title song of the film is written and composed by Kapil Paliwal, a poet and lyricist from Udaipur. He is voiced by Dinesh Verma from Udaipur. Rajawat said that the theme of the film is based on the Rajasthan government’s ‘Police Mitra’ scheme and tells how one can cooperate in preventing crime from the society by becoming a Police Mitra.

Rajawat says that the cast of the film, made on a very low budget using local resources, is also local and features people who are coming in front of the camera for the first time. The film is brought to life by the performances of the actors who are aware of the local conditions.

The screenplay is written by Himanshu Singh Rajawat based on his own experiences and those of his colleagues. Drawing inspiration from his experience as a Rajasthan police constable, the plot and dialogues are infused with real-life incidents. The film’s director of photography Raj Malusare’s experiences bring the Rajasthani landscape to life, while Sandesh Khambe’s make-up helps transform the actors into believable characters. The film’s poster has been designed by Prashant Shinkare, while Rajesh Shah’s expert editing and Inderdev Yadav’s digital intermediate work enhance the film’s visual appeal, while Krishna Vishwakarma’s sound mix brings the visuals to life.
