New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday left Papua New Guinea for Sydney (Australia) on the last leg of his three-nation tour.
Informing about this, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s very impressive first visit to Papua New Guinea has concluded. Meanwhile, he reiterated his commitment to strengthen ties with friendly Pacific Island countries. Now the Prime Minister’s next destination is Sydney.
In his farewell message, the Prime Minister said that the visit to Papua New Guinea was historic. He will cherish the memories of meeting the people of this wonderful nation. There was also an opportunity to interact with leaders and discuss ways to strengthen ties with their respective countries.
Thanking Prime Minister James Marape for the warm welcome, Prime Minister Modi said that he is now on his way to Sydney to attend various events in Australia.
Earlier, the Prime Minister had a meeting with the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Chris Hipkins. Meanwhile, the two leaders reviewed the progress made in all areas of India-New Zealand relations.
The Prime Minister tweeted that we discussed deepening trade and cultural ties between the two countries.
