New Delhi, May 14 (Hindustan Times). The first ministerial meeting of the India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) will be held in Brussels, Belgium on Tuesday, May 16. The meeting will discuss ways to enhance cooperation in strategic technology, digital connectivity, clean energy, trade and investment. Ministry of Commerce has given this information.
In an official statement released by the Ministry of Commerce on Sunday, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar will attend the meeting. At the same time, the European Union will be led by its Executive Vice Presidents Dombrovskis and Vestager.
According to the ministry, three working groups will present reports for future cooperation between the two sides in this meeting. The first working group deals with strategic technology, digital governance and digital connectivity. The second working group deals with green and clean energy technologies, while the third working group deals with trade, investment and flexible value chains.
According to the statement, the meeting will discuss further plans for investment in India as well as the economic scenario of Belgian enterprises in India. Apart from this, the three Indian ministers will also meet the Prime Minister of Belgium and the President of the European Commission.
