Shimla, May 14 (Hindustan Times). A master plan will be prepared for the works of the Jal Shakti Department in each Assembly Constituency of Himachal Pradesh. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has instructed the officials for this.
Presiding over a review meeting of the Jal Shakti Department on Sunday, Mukesh Agnihotri instructed the departmental officials to prepare a roadmap for various works to be done under the department in all 68 assembly constituencies of the state.
He said that the department would prepare a comprehensive plan (master plan) for each assembly constituency so as to get a detailed description of the ongoing works at various levels and ensure implementation of these works within the time frame.
Instructing to conduct awareness campaign across the state to make people aware for the prevention of water borne diseases, he said that for this it should be ensured that media like social media, public media, advertisements are used to the maximum extent. By which people can be made aware to avoid water borne diseases in the next rainy season.
Emphasizing the need for rain and snow water harvesting, ground water recharge and sustainability of the source, he also directed officials to conduct awareness programs for drinking water quality and water conservation.
He said that along with drinking water, the state government is working towards strengthening and improving the irrigation system. Better and accessible irrigation facilities will also ensure growth in the economy of the state’s farmers.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed to speed up all developmental projects and complete them within the time frame.
