The creator of Chat GPT himself gave an important advice to the US government, describing AI as the biggest threat

Chat GPT was launched by Open AI last year and has been a hot topic in the chatbot market ever since. People are scared of Chat GPT and questions are arising in their mind that due to Chat GPT people can lose their jobs. Some time ago Open AI shared a report in which the company said that whose job is at risk due to chat GPT and who is safe from it. Meanwhile, Open AI CEO Sam Altman appeared before a parliamentary panel. Where the dangers of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and warnings to society were discussed.

 

 

Regulation of AI has become imperative

Richard Blumenthal, chairman of the subcommittee, played an audio clip at the start of the hearing. There was a voice in the audio which sounded like an MP3. Whereas in reality it was made with the help of AI. During the hearing, Sam Altman told US lawmakers that his chatbot has shocked the world. After which regulation of AI has become necessary. He said that the government should intervene to reduce the risks posed by AI. Altman urged Congress to enact new regulations on big technology.

  1. Altman, the global face of AI, has warned that artificial intelligence has the potential to improve almost every aspect of our lives, but it also poses serious risks. He asserted that over time AI will one day solve the biggest challenges of human life such as climate change and cancer treatment. However, on the other hand it will also lead to massive job losses.
  2. Sam stresses on regulatory intervention by governments. He said that government intervention is necessary to reduce the threat of AI.
  3. He suggested that the US government might consider combining licensing and testing requirements before releasing AI models.
  4. According to a report, Altman recommended creating a US agency and global coordination to set rules on the technology and regulate AI. He said that something needs to be done globally to reduce the threat of AI and America should lead it.
  5. Altman also discussed the difficulties in the labor market. He said that the biggest fear of the people is losing their jobs. He told the government that AI would be good at tasks, not jobs. He also said that AI has the potential to create good quality jobs.
