Bijnor: The dead body of a monk living in a hut built in a mango orchard in Sarai Alam village of Nangal Soti police station area has been found. The police have sent the dead body for postmortem and started investigating the matter.
Near the canal in the village is Om Pratap Singh’s garden, in which Vijay Maharaj Chaitanya Brahmachari (42), a resident of Pratapgarh, lived in a hut built for about 15 years. On Thursday morning, due to the stench coming from inside the hut, the villagers reached and found the dead body of the monk. As soon as the information was received, area officer Gajendra Singh, station in-charge Shyamveer Singh reached the spot along with the force.
A knife was found near the dead body. There were marks of beating with a sharp weapon on the body. The police have sent the dead body for postmortem and started investigating the matter.
