Maharashtra government has made a big announcement on the occasion of Savarkar Jayanti. CM Eknath Shinde announced that the Bandra-Versova sea link will be named after Veer Savarkar. It will now be known as ‘Veer Savarkar Setu’. The 140th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar was celebrated on May 28, Sunday. Currently, only 7 percent of this Sea Link has been constructed, while its construction has been going on since 2018. Shinde also said that a ‘Swatantryveer Savarkar Valor Award’ would also be given on the lines of the central government’s Valor Award.

 

 

The renaming process is already underway

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has changed the name of Bandra-Versova sea link in a big announcement. The Bandra-Versova Sea Link will be known as Veer Savarkar Setu. Although it was discussed for a long time, it was already being said that the state government would rename the Bandra-Versova C-Link. Now this C-Link has been renamed on the occasion of Veer Savarkar Jayanti.

 

 

Shinde took Savarkar Gaurav Yatra

Savarkar holds an important place in national politics as well as in Maharashtra politics, in the past Rahul Gandhi’s statements about Savarkar during the Join Bharat Yatra created a stir across the country, which had an impact on Maharashtra politics as well. . After Rahul Gandhi’s statement, CM Eknath Shinde announced Savarkar Gaurav Yatra. It was launched from Thane in April. CM Shinde announced that this yatra will be conducted in 288 seats of the state. Which was organized across the state.

Sharad Pawar advised Rahul Gandhi to keep quiet

On the other hand, after Rahul Gandhi’s statement, a controversy has arisen regarding freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in Maharashtra politics. While the BJP was repeatedly accusing Rahul Gandhi of “insulting” Savarkar, there was controversy at the Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra. After which Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar intervened and advised Rahul Gandhi to keep quiet.

Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar said that no one can ignore Savarkar’s sacrifice for the country’s freedom struggle, but differences about him cannot be made a national issue today, as there are more important things to attend to.

The construction of Sea Link will reduce the distance between Bandra and Versova by 20 to 25 minutes. Currently it takes one and a half to two hours. A total cost of 11 thousand 332 crore rupees will be spent on the construction of 8 lane C link. The nearly 17 km long Sea Link will reach Versova via Carter Road, Juhu, Bandra.
