Temperatures are rising rapidly, with mercury crossing 45 in Tonk and Churu

Jaipur: Bundi, Kota, Baran, Jhalawad, Districts and surrounding areas may experience thunderstorms amid summer heat in Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain with strong winds in Kota, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Bundi, Baran, Udaipur, Rajsamand and Jhalawad.

Apart from this, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Dhaulpur, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh and Sriganganagar are also likely to experience light rain and strong winds. A warning has been issued in capital Jaipur till May 26 for the impact and change of Western Disturbance.

Thunderstorms, light rain or drizzle are likely to occur over northern parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur divisions in the afternoon. Cyclone activity will increase from May 23. Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bharatpur, some parts of Ajmer division are likely to experience moderate to severe thunderstorm, strong winds and light rain. Cyclone activity is likely to continue in the state on May 25-28 and temperature is expected to drop by two to four degrees Celsius.
