Team India’s jersey will have three stripes for the first time, BCCI confirms

The BCCI has officially announced that Adidas will be the sponsor of Team India’s new kit. The agreement has been made till 2028. The BCCI confirmed in a statement that this is the first time that the Indian cricket team will have three stripes on its jersey. The Indian team will wear a new jersey in the World Test Championship final.

 

 

 

 

In its official statement, the BCCI said that adidas will design and manufacture new jerseys, kits for the Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams and the Under-19 team. The contract is till March 2028. Adidas will have the rights to design and manufacture the jerseys of the Indian cricket team for all formats. This will also include travel and training kits for the team as well as support staff.

 

 

 

Stripes for the first time in Team India’s jersey

BCCI said that this agreement is starting from June. India will wear the new jersey in the final of the ICC World Test Championship. This will be the first time that Team India will have three stripes on its jersey. Significantly, a glimpse of this has also come to the fore. In fact, the first team to leave for the World Test Championship wore this new kit. You can see Akshar Patel and members of the support staff in the new kit in the photo below. Their jerseys have 3 white stripes on either side of the sleeves.
