New Delhi, Taipei: Taiwan has started a military exercise called Hankuang from yesterday. Simultaneously, Taiwan is revitalizing its military to counter the repeated threats on the ground by Communist China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA). The five-day exercise is divided into two phases. It will use the US-made Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS) platform. Which will coordinate civil and military operations in times of war and jointly strengthen both.

The first phase of this military exercise has started from May 15. Which will run till June 22. After that the second phase will run from 24 to 28 June. This will be a small but very important step.

In fact, this Han-Kuang military exercise has been held regularly every year since 1984. But this time computerized simulation is a feature. This will continue round the clock for five consecutive days. It will also focus on military operations at night. However, the jawans will also be given rest in between. The exercise will continue in such a way that while one troop is resting, the other troop is active.
