Tokyo, May 26 (Hindustan Times). Japan police arrested a suspect hiding in a nearby building after killing four people at around 4.30 a.m. today (Friday). The incident took place yesterday in Nagano city. The killer had killed four people, including two police officers, by firing and attacking with a sharp weapon.
A senior Nagano police official said a gun and knife were recovered from the suspected attacker. He was hiding in a nearby building. The dead included an elderly woman and two police officers, Yoshiki Tamai, 46, and Takuo Ikechi, 61.
It is noteworthy that murder incidents are rare in Japan. Japan has some of the strictest laws in the world. However, earlier in July last year, former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot dead.
