Surat: Police constable arrested for selling liquor seized from check post

Surat: Saroli police station chief Anil Mori has been arrested for selling liquor seized at the check post. According to information, Crime Branch has arrested Head Constable Anil Mori in the case of sale of seized foreign liquor. Foreign liquor was seized while Anil Mori was on duty at the check post. Later this quantity of liquor was sold to someone else.

Anil Mori was investigated after he was suspected of selling liquor to an egg lorry driver. Sarthana police seized foreign liquor from Seemada village. Praveen Ratilal Patel, who was driving a carnivorous egg lorry, has been arrested by the police. In the police interrogation, the name of constable Anil Mori of Saroli came up. Investigation revealed that police constable Anil Mori repeatedly cheated the quantity of liquor seized from the check post instead of making a case. After the matter came to the notice of the higher police officers, the investigation was handed over to the crime branch. The crime branch arrested head constable Anil Mori for further questioning.

In fact, Anil Mori, head constable of Saroli police station posted on duty at Neyol check post, sold liquor to his man instead of taking it and filing a case. Sarthana police raided his man there and seized liquor worth Rs.60 thousand and the whole matter came to light. He gave this quantity of liquor to his man Praveen at Seemada. Praveen raided there after getting information about this from Sarthana police. When the police asked him where he got the liquor, he confessed to everything. Meanwhile, Head Constable Anil Mori’s bag was broken.
