Delhi Aam Aadmi Party MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi has been found guilty by the court in the student conflict case. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has sentenced Akhilesh’s husband Tripathi to stand in court for the whole day. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of 30,000 rupees on Akhilesh’s husband Tripathi.
Order to pay Rs.23500 out of the fine amount to the complainant
According to reports, the court has ordered to deposit Rs 6500 to the court and Rs 23500 to the complainant. Notably, the Rouse Avenue court convicted Akhilesh Tripathi under Section 323 of the IPC, while acquitting him of the charges under Section 341/506(1) of the IPC and Section 3(1) of the SC/ST Act.
Charged with intentionally injuring a student
In 2020, MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi was accused of intentionally injuring a student. The court convicted Tripathi in March. The prosecution also accused the accused Tripathi of making caste-related remarks, to which the court said, “It is difficult to believe these allegations made by the prosecution.” Further, the Court also observed that it does not appear that the accused tried to humiliate or intimidate the complainant for being a Scheduled Caste. After this, the court fixed April 13 as the date for sentencing. Meanwhile, the court has reserved its decision on the punishment of the MLA.
3 year old case
According to the complaint, the student filed the complaint in Feb-2020 and claimed that on 7-Feb-2020 while he was going home, the accused assaulted him at Zandewalan Chowk in Lal Bagh. The complainant, who belongs to a Scheduled Caste, also alleged that Tripathi had used racist words against him.
