Strong trend in domestic stock market despite global pressure

New Delhi : Despite the weak global signals, the domestic stock market remains in an uptrend today. Today’s business also started on a brisk note. There was a slight selling pressure as soon as the market opened, but after a while the buyers were seen dominating the market. After the first one hour of trading, the Sensex was trading up by 0.32 percent and the Nifty by 0.29 percent.

Reliance Industries, UPL, Tech Mahindra, Divis Laboratories and Wipro were trading with a strength of 1.75 per cent to 1.19 per cent after the initial 1 hour of trading. On the other hand, ONGC, Grasim Industries, Power Grid Corporation, Bharti Airtel and Axis Bank were trading with losses ranging from 1.87 per cent to 0.47 per cent.

In the trading so far, there was active trading in 1,914 shares in the stock market. Of these, 1,284 stocks were trading in the green mark by earning profit, while 630 stocks were trading in the red mark by taking losses. Similarly, out of 30 stocks included in the Sensex, 22 stocks remained in the green mark with the support of buying. On the other hand, 8 stocks were trading in red mark under selling pressure. Whereas out of 50 stocks included in Nifty, 37 stocks were seen trading in green mark and 13 stocks in red mark.

The BSE Sensex today opened at a level of 61,985.36 points with a gain of 112.74 points. There was slight selling in the market as soon as the trading started. But after this the buyers started buying. However, there were attempts to book profits in between. Despite this, the market was seen to be dominated by buyers. The Sensex was trading at a level of 62,070.69 points with a gain of 198.07 points at 10:15 am after the initial 1-hour trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market.

Like the Sensex, the NSE Nifty opened at a level of 18,368.35 points with a gain of 47.20 points. After witnessing a slight selloff in early trade, the Nifty found support from buyers, leading to a sharp uptrend in the index. There was occasional selling pressure in the middle of the trade. Despite this, the Nifty remained bullish. The Nifty was trading at 18,374.95 points with a gain of 53.80 points at 10:15 am after the first 1 hour of trading between continuous buying and selling in the market.

The domestic stock market also started trading with weakness in the pre-opening session today amid weak global cues. In this session, the BSE Sensex was down by 151.68 points, or 0.25 percent, at the level of 61,720.94 points. At the same time, the Nifty had reached the level of 18,326.80 points with a weakness of 5.60 points, or 0.03 percent, in the pre-opening session.

Prior to this, on Thursday, the Sensex gained 98.84 points, or 0.16 percent, to close at 61,872.62 points on Thursday. On the other hand, the Nifty ended Thursday’s trading at 18,321.15 points, up 35.75 points, or 0.20 percent.
