Stock Market Closing, 15th May 2023: Monday was an auspicious day for the Indian stock market. After a strong opening on Monday amid weak global cues, the first trading day of the week also ended on a positive note. Sensex climbed more than 300 points. The wealth of investors has increased to 278.67 lakh crores.

The Indian stock market index Sensex today closed at 62,345.71 points with a gain of 317.81 points and Nifty closed at 18398.85 points with a gain of 84.05 points. The stock market gained momentum today due to buying by investors.
Great move by Bank Nifty
Bank Nifty outperformed the market today once again touched its all-time high and recovered from there. Bank Nifty touched its all-time high on 14th December 2022 and today the index has once again touched this level. Today Bank Nifty touched a high of 44,000. Although the performance of the pharma sector was not good today and its shares saw a decline today.

In the BSE Sensex, 23 out of 30 stocks closed with gains and only 7 closed with losses. While 33 out of 50 stocks in NSE Nifty saw gains and 17 stocks declined.

All the 12 Nifty indices ended with gains today and ended completely in the green compared to a mixed morning movement. The Nifty Realty index saw strong gains today and closed with a gain of 4.32 per cent. Media shares registered a good gain of 2.06 per cent. FMCG stocks gained 1.14 per cent and PSU banks 1.13 per cent.

At the beginning of the stock market today, the BSE Sensex managed to open at a level of 62,157.10 with a gain of 129.20 points or 0.21 per cent. On the other hand, the NSE’s Nifty opened at 18,339.30 with a gain of 24.50 points or 0.13 per cent.
