State level meeting and training workshop of Heart Attack Treatment Project on Friday

Varanasi, May 25 (Hindustan Times). A state level meeting and training workshop of the Heart Attack Treatment Project will be organized on Friday, May 26 at the BHU Trauma Center Auditorium. In the auditorium, under the ICMR STEMI care project, ECG and thrombolysis therapy will be provided to prevent heart attacks. Chief Medical Officers of 18 districts of the state including Varanasi and doctors and staff nurses of Varanasi will participate in this workshop. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Sandeep Chaudhary informed reporters at the CMO office auditorium in Durgakund Kabirnagar on Thursday.

Dr. Chowdhury said that the workshop will have a detailed discussion about the Heart Attack Treatment Project (Stemy Care Project). Various issues and topics will be discussed. Doctors and staff nurses will also be briefed on ECG and thrombolysis therapy. He said that the heart attack treatment project will provide great relief to heart attack patients in the district. Varanasi district has been identified as a pilot project. Under this project, all community and primary health centers including regional and district hospitals of the district will provide treatment facilities to heart disease patients. He informed that ECG machines and other equipments have been made available in all medical units for examination of patients. Doctors and staff are being trained, after the success of the pilot project here, it will be implemented in other districts.

The CMO said that the Multidisciplinary Research Unit (MDRU) in the state is at IMS BHU. Experts are deployed here for research.Stem care project has been started in the states of the country where there are MDRUs. Due to this, Varanasi has also got this facility.

The Registrar and Rector of BHU will also be present in the role of Chief Patron in the workshop. Director of IMS BHU, Dean of Research, Superintendent of Sarsundar Lal Hospital, Incharge of Trauma Centre, Executive Director of TSU Medical Health Government of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Medical Officer Varanasi and President of Heart India Charitable Trust will be present as guests of honour. Prof. KGMU Lucknow as ICMR expert. Dr. SK Dwivedi, Prof. IGMC Shimla. Dr. PC Negi, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma and Dr. Rupa S. of NCD Department. Scientist will be present.
