Varanasi: Singer Samar Singh, accused in Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey’s death case, has to stay in jail for now. District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishvesh’s court rejected Samar’s bail plea. During the hearing, the court observed the CCTV footage related to the incident, the progress of the investigation and all the evidence placed on the table.
Shashank Shekhar Tripathi, the lawyer of Madhu Dubey, the mother of the actress, gave this information on Saturday. He said that on Friday, District and Sessions Judge Dr. Samar Singh’s bail application. Ajay Krishna Vishwesh was discussed in court. After heated arguments from both sides, the District Judge rejected Samar Singh’s bail plea. The most important fact was that Samar Singh repeatedly stated that he was in Gorakhpur at the time of the incident, but the CDR showed Samar Singh’s location in Varanasi. The police investigation revealed the fact that the location of the accused was in Banaras in the call detail record on the morning of the incident.
Actress Akanksha Dubey’s mother Madhu Dubey called the accused Samar Singh several times on the morning of the incident, but he did not answer. So far the accused had spoken to the aspirant 390 times, out of which 95 calls were made by the accused. The investigating officer told the court that a written statement was not considered necessary in the incident, so it was not taken. On which the court ordered to take the statement of the complainant Madhu Dubey. The defense counsel argued for bail that Akanksha Dubey had no relation with the accused for the past six months, she has been framed.
Advocate Shashank Shekhar said that DGC Criminal Munib Singh Chauhan and the plaintiff’s lawyers had argued in the court of District and Sessions Judge.
