Siliguri : In a joint operation by the Special Operation Group (SOG) and the police of Matigara police station, a gold trader has been arrested for running online betting in a shopping mall in Siliguri. The name of the arrested gold businessman is Sunderlal Dugar (58). The arrested accused will be produced in Siliguri court today.
The SOG team received a secret information that the business of betting for IPL matches is going on under the guise of a gold shop inside a shopping mall under Matigara police station. On the basis of information, a campaign was conducted in the said shopping mall last night with the help of Matigara police station. During this raid was conducted in a jewelery shop inside the shopping mall. Police seized lakhs of rupees in cash including computers, laptops, mobiles from inside the shop. It is being told that online ID and password were given to bookies for betting in IPL. Police has started taking further action.
