Siddaramaiah will take over the reins of Karnataka this afternoon

Bengaluru, May 20 (Hindustan Times). Senior Karnataka Congress leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will once again take charge of the state today (Saturday). State Congress President DK Shivakumar will be the Deputy Chief Minister. Some other MLAs and senior leaders may also find place in the Council of Ministers.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at 12.30 pm at the Kantirava Stadium in Bengaluru. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, chief ministers of Congress-ruled states and many other leaders are expected to attend the event.

Kharge has invited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to attend the ceremony.

The results of the Karnataka assembly elections were declared on May 13. Congress has got 135 seats, BJP 66 and JDS 19 seats. After getting a clear majority, the Congress has handed over the Chief Minister’s chair to Siddaramaiah after a long brainstorming session.
