Siddaramaiah becomes CM of Karnataka, Shivakumar becomes Deputy CM, 8 MLAs take oath as Ministers

Congress formed the government in Karnataka on Saturday. Siddaramaiah took oath as Chief Minister for the second time. Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot administered the oath of office to him at 12.30 pm. After this, DK Shivakumar was sworn in as the sole Deputy Chief Minister. Dr G Parameshwar, KH Muniyappa, KJ George and MB Patil have been made Cabinet Ministers. Satish Jarkiholi, Priyank Khadge, Ramalinga Reddy and Zameer Ahmed Khan were also sworn in as ministers.

Siddaramaiah became CM of Karnataka.

Leaders of nine opposition parties were present in the oath-taking ceremony. They include Mehbooba Mufti (PDP), Nitish Kumar (JDU), Tejashwi Yadav (ARJD), D Raja and Sitaram Yechury (left), MK Stalin (DMK), Sharad Pawar (NCP), Farooq Abdullah (National Congress), Kamal is Hassan (Makkal Nidhi Mayam). Apart from him, Congress’ Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Kamal Nath and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel were also present.

 

Let us tell you that the results of the Karnataka assembly elections came on May 13. Congress has won 135 out of 224 seats, BJP 66 and JDS 19. But the churning for the post of Chief Minister continued for five days in the Congress. There was a claim between Siddaramaiah and DK Sivakumar. Hyman chose Siddaramaiah.
