It was told that she got angry when the teacher took away the phone. He had also threatened to set himself on fire before the incident. This case is from the South American country of Guyana.

According to the report of Daily Star, a fire broke out in the girls’ hostel of Mahdia Secondary School on Monday night. In no time, they have surrounded most of the school. Many students and staff were trapped in it. Immediately the team of fire brigade was called. But by the time the fire was brought under control, 20 people had died.

The incident took place in a mining town in central Guyana, about 200 miles from the capital Georgetown. Now in this case the police has revealed that the person who set the fire was none other than a student of the school itself. The student’s mobile was confiscated by his teacher. She was worried about this. Getting angry, he took a dangerous step. The girl also got burnt in the fire.

Police say that the accused student set the fire because the school administration had confiscated his mobile phone. Actually, the school administration had come to know that the girl student was in contact with an elderly person. After which this action was taken. Guyana’s National Security Advisor Gerald Govia told that the accused girl is about 14 years old. When his phone was snatched, he threatened to set the girls’ hostel on fire.

However, the girl was also injured due to the fire, currently she is undergoing treatment in the hospital. After being discharged from the hospital, he will be taken into custody for questioning. Many of the other nine people admitted to the hospital are in critical condition.

At present, countries like America have offered help to Guyana regarding this heart-wrenching incident. These countries have talked about sending forensic experts to help in DNA identification. Because, identification of dead bodies due to burning in fire is a big danger.

Most of the dead are girls in the age group of 12 to 18 years. The five-year-old son of a female employee working in the school also became a victim of the accident. Firefighters managed to rescue some people by making a hole in the wall.
