Bahraich: On behalf of Bahraich Vikas Manch, all paid floral tributes to patriotic martyr Sukhdev on his birth anniversary at Bahraich Sena Bhawan.
Patron Anil Tripathi on the occasion said that Sukhdev was born on May 15, 1907. His father’s name was Ramlal and mother’s name was Lalli Devi. Sukhdev and Bhagat Singh had a close friendship and both stayed together till the last moments of their lives. From childhood, Sukhdev began to understand the atrocities of the British Raj. He dedicated his entire life for the freedom of his country, finally the British sentenced him to death and he sacrificed himself smilingly kissing the gallows for the defense of this motherland. Today we remember him as a revolutionary.
President Harshit Tripathi said that Sukhdev was handling revolutionary activities in Punjab and other cities of North India. His life was completely devoted to the country and national interest. He also worked to instill patriotism in the youth by telling them about the proud history of India in the National College, Lahore. It was in Lahore that Sukhdev along with other revolutionaries founded the ‘Naujwan Bharat Sabha’, whose task was to explain the importance of freedom to the youth of the country and inspire them to work in this direction. Sukhdev participated in many revolutionary activities. One of them is the hunger strike of the prisoners in 1929. Which exposed the inhuman face of the British government.
Ladvaiya’s successor State General Secretary Ramesh Mishra said that when Sukhdev learned that Bhagat Singh was being considered to be sent to Russia after the bomb blast, he asked Bhagat Singh to call another meeting. In the second meeting, it was decided that Batukeshwar Dutt and Bhagat Singh would throw bombs in the assembly. Thus it was on 8 April 1929 at 12.30 pm when Sir George Chester rose in the Legislative Assembly of New Delhi to announce the Special Rights in the Public Safety Bill. At the same time, Bhagat Singh and Dutt threw bombs in the assembly and raised slogans of ‘Incalab Zindabad’. In the meantime leaflets saying ‘The voice must be loud to hear the deaf-mute’ were also thrown in the air. He was hanged on March 23, 1931 along with Bhagat Singh and Rajguru.
Shivprakash Tiwari, Kedarnath Shukla, Ravi, Ram Roop Mishra, Sudhakar Mishra, Rajan Yadav, Aditya Bhan Singh, Virendra Balmiki and others were present on the occasion. Ajay Tripathi did the stage operation.
