Sengol to be housed in new Parliament House, says Amit Shah – ‘Symbol of taking power from British’

Honoring and reviving our historical traditions was one of the goals set by the Prime Minister at the Amrit Mohotsav of Independence.

Amit Shah said that Sengol will be kept in the new building. Sengol is a symbol of taking power from the British. The Shah pointed out that the recipient of Sengol was expected to rule justly and justly. A country’s parliament building is a more suitable place for the establishment of Sengol, there could not be a more suitable, sacred and proper place than the parliament. It is not appropriate to keep Sengol in a museum. So, when PM Modi dedicates the Parliament House to the country, he will be presented with Sengol from Tamil Nadu.

Amit Shah said that historical Sengol was used by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on August 14, 1947. The British used Sengol while handing over power to India. Sengol is a Tamil word meaning full of wealth.
