Section 144 imposed in Northeast Delhi ahead of G-20 summit, ban on demonstrations and rallies

Ahead of the G20 summit in the capital Delhi, the Delhi Police has imposed Section 144 in northeast Delhi, which prohibits large gatherings or illegal activities. The DCP of North-East Delhi district has issued an order in this regard.

This Delhi Police order prohibits illegal activities, marches, blocking roads and paths, any kind of procession, demonstration, rally or public meeting by agitators or public representatives. The order states, “This order brick, stone, acid or any other dangerous liquid, explosive, petrol, substance, soda.”water The police will also monitor such speeches that may create criminal enmity between communities or hurt their religious sentiments. Any person who violates this order will be prosecuted under Section 188 of the IPC.
