Sanchar Saathi Portal: Usually, when a person’s smartphone is stolen or lost, they file a police complaint and forget about it. But now the government has launched a portal through which you can get back your stolen or lost smartphone. Nowadays, many information like personal data, net banking, UPI etc. are recorded in the smartphone. In such a situation, in case of phone theft or loss, all these have to be blocked. To avoid such a situation and for the convenience of the people, the Modi government has launched the Sanchar Sathi portal on 16th May.

Using stolen mobile will not be easy

Railways and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnav launched the Sanchar Saathi portal on 16 May. Through this portal you can block and unblock your lost mobile number. In such a situation, it will not be easy to use the stolen mobile. You can easily register a lost mobile complaint on this portal. This will also help in tracking now. It may be noted that after registering the information on the Sanchar Saathi portal, the mobile operator will get the information about the stolen mobile. After this, the mobile will start as soon as the news of the update is received. Through this portal, you will also be able to know how many SIM cards have been issued on one ID.

How to block stolen mobile-

 

  • If your mobile is stolen and you want to block it to prevent misuse, click on .
  • Select Citizen Centric Services in this.
  • Here you will see the option of Block your lost/stolen mobile, click on it.
  • Only after selecting this option, a page will open in front of you where you will have to enter mobile related information.
  • You need to enter both the mobile numbers, both the 15 digit IMEI numbers.
  • Along with this, you will also have to upload the device model and mobile invoice.
  • Then you have to fill the date, time, district and state of the lost mobile.
  • Along with this, you will also have to enter the complaint number registered with the police, the location of the police station, the name of the state and district.
  • Upload a copy of the police complaint here.
  • Then enter your personal information like name, address, email.
  • Finally select Disclaimer and submit the form.
  • After submitting this form your phone will be blocked.
  • Through this you can also track the phone.

Efforts to prevent fraud in the telecom sector

Launching the portal, IT Telecom and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that to enhance the mission of Digital India in the country and to ensure the security of telecom users, the government has launched the Sanchar Sarathi portal. It has launched CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) to block stolen mobiles. Now users will also be able to know how many SIMs are registered on their ID and name. Apart from this, fake SIM users can also be identified using ASTR (Artificial Intelligence and Facial Recognition Powered Solution for Telecom SIM Subscriber Verification). At the launch of the portal, Ashwini Vaishnav said that a total of 40 lakh fake mobile connections have been identified.
