Rowing and water sports started in Khelo India University Games

Gorakhpur : Gorakhpur is also hosting the rowing competition in the Khelo India University Games. More than 250 players from universities of many states of the country have started showcasing their talent in Ramgarhtal. From seven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the young boat riders have started rocking their water sports skills on the rhythm with their paddles. Sports lovers of eastern Uttar Pradesh including Gorakhpur will be able to enjoy this thrilling spectacle till May 31.

In the hit event for a distance of 2000 meters on Saturday morning, the competition of single sculls, double sculls, coxless pair, coxless quadruple, lightweight single, double and quadruple in men and women’s category started. On Sunday, May 28, players who were denied entry into the further rounds in the HIT event will get a chance to showcase their talents in the Repechage event. The finals of the 2000 meters will be held on Monday, May 29. Individual categories for 500 meters will start from May 30.
