Poha Cutlet is a delicious and easy-to-make snack made with whole wheat flour and various spices. The method to make Poha Cutlet is as follows:
Crackers: 1 cup
Potato: 2 medium
Onion: 1
Green chili (finely chopped): 1
Ginger (grated): 1 tsp
Coriander leaves (finely chopped): 2 tbsp
Lemon juice: 1 tbsp
Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder: 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder: 1/2 tsp
salt to taste
Bread Crumbs: 1/2 cup
oil for shallow frying
Instruction:
Wash the poha in running water for a few seconds. Drain off the excess water and keep it aside for a few minutes to soften.
In a mixing bowl, add poha, mashed potatoes, chopped onions, green chilies, grated ginger, coriander leaves, lemon juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a cutlet or patty. Repeat the process to make cutlets from the remaining mixture.
Place the bread crumbs in a plate. Coat each cutlet with bread crumbs from all sides, pressing gently so that the crumbs stick well.
Heat oil in a non stick pan or wok on medium heat.
As soon as the oil is hot, put the cut cutlets in the pan and cook till they become golden brown and crispy from both the sides. Flip the cutlet slowly so that it does not break.
When the cutlets are cooked and become crispy, take them out of the pan and remove excess oil by taking them out on tissue paper.
Serve poha cutlets hot with ketchup, chutney or any side of your choice.
