RBI Board Meeting: The board of the Reserve Bank of India in its meeting has approved giving Rs 87,416 crore as dividend to the central government. In the financial year 2021-22, RBI had given a dividend of Rs 30,307 crore to the central government. With this, the RBI board decided to increase the contingency risk buffer to 6 per cent from the existing 5.5 per cent.

Today’s board meeting reviewed the current global and domestic economic situation, RBI said in a statement. Apart from Governor Shaktikanta Das, Deputy Governors Mahesh Kumar Jain, Michael Devvrat Patra, Rajeshwar Rao, T Rabi Shankar attended the RBI board meeting. Besides this, other directors of the board like Satish K Marathe, Revathi Iyer, Sachin Chaturvedi, Avand Mahindra, Pankaj Ramnabhai Patel and Ravindra Dholakia were also present in the meeting.
