Ram Mandir Ayodhya: In Dwapar Yuga, when Lord Shri Ram had to go into exile for 14 years due to the boon given by Kaikeyi, many such interesting incidents happened. People still remember these incidents as lessons. Let us tell you that during this time, Saryu River came in front of Lord Shri Ram along with Mother Sita and his brother Lakshman and they got worried. During this time, he met a boatman, who asked him to cross the river on one condition. Let us know in detail what condition the sailor had placed before Lord Shri Ram!

What condition did the boatman put before Lord Shri Ram?

According to the legend, the boatman had placed a condition before Lord Shri Ram to cross the river because a rock had changed into a female form due to his touch. That woman was none other than Goddess Ahilya. Actually, Goddess Ahilya was transformed into a stone due to the curse given by Gautam Rishi due to the deception of Lord Indra. To save Goddess Ahilya, Lord Shri Ram freed her by touching her feet. Kevat knew about this incident, only after which he expressed his desire to wash the feet of Lord Shri Ram.

Kevat washed the feet of Lord Shri Ram

On this Lord Shri Ram laughs and says come boatman and wash my feet. Hearing this, the boatman’s happiness knew no bounds. He runs and brings a plate. In that, the Lord washes the first feet of Shri Ram. After which Lord Ram places it on the ground and again his feet get dirty in the soil. Seeing this the boatman becomes sad. At the same time, Lord Shri Ram stands on one leg so that the boatman does not get disturbed. Seeing this, the boatman says to Lord Shri Ram for how long will you stand on one leg, take the support of my head. Then Shri Ram places his hand on the head of the boatman. After which flowers start raining from the sky. After washing the feet of Lord Shri Ram, the boatman made his entire family drink that nectar. After this, he took Lord Shri Ram to cross the Saryu river.
