What happened in the courtroom?

Dr. Subramaniam Swamy and Rahul’s lawyer reached the court room for hearing the case of giving passport to Rahul Gandhi. The hearing on the issue of NOC on Rahul’s passport began in Rouse Avenue court. Meanwhile, Swamy told the court that a common person can get his passport for a maximum of 10 years but this is a special case.

Does Rahul have a British passport?

Subramaniam Swamy said that there is no valid or effective reason for issuing passports for 10 years. He said that like the fundamental rights, the right to hold a passport is not an absolute right. Apart from this, Swamy told the court that in 2019 Rahul Gandhi was asked by the ministry whether Rahul Gandhi has a British passport. But he did not give any correct answer on this. According to Swamy, according to Indian law, a citizen cannot get Indian citizenship if he has citizenship of another country.
