Zurich: Tina Turner, who was known as the Queen of Rock’n’Roll, died today at her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland after a long illness. He was 83 years old.
In a statement, their UK spokesperson Bernard Doherty Said, “With his demise, the world has lost a musical legend and role model”.
Born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee, Turner rose to fame as a singer in the late 1960s. After leaving her husband Ike Turner, she staged one of the greatest comebacks in pop music history, including “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” “Private Dancer” and more in the 1980s .
Her life story was depicted in the 1993 smash hit film What’s Love Got to Do With It and the 2021 Broadway musical Tina – The Tina Turner Musical.
